Before, I was scared to perform in front of a large crowd. But last week I went to the elderly centre and talked to the elderly people there. I performed magic tricks for them to make them happy. It was very meaningful.

My summer holiday was full of lovely memories. I learned unicycle every Wednesday evening. At first, I lost my balance and hurt my knee. However, I plucked up the courage to overcome my fear and passed my unicycle assessment with flying colours. I was awarded an honourable Red Unicycle Badge!

This summer, I went to Taiwan with my family and planned to go snorkelling. When I arrived at the shore, I felt scared, because the sea looked so deep. But Mum and Dad encouraged me, so I dived into the sea. Now I can see the beautiful fish and corals!

This May, I went to the Outward Bound training camp. I was terrified because I am afraid of heights, and one of the activities involved jumping from a high jetty into the sea! However, I did not flinch, and instead I calmed myself down and jumped off.

I learned how to ride a horse last year. One day my horse was feeling hungry and it ran in the direction of the stable. I held onto the saddle with my courage, and when the horse was slowing down, I used my best skills to get down from it.

The most courageous thing I’ve done is hiking for ten hours with my friends. We helped each other to climb up the hill. Although we were tired, we kept going up and reached the top. We were proud of ourselves!

Before, I was afraid of talking to strangers, but now I am an active volunteer on Flag Day. I learned to talk to passers-by on the street and ask them to get a sticker in order to raise funds. The more I practise, the more confidence I have.

The most courageous thing I have done is having an injection. When I had my shot, I didn’t cry but stared at the needle. When it was going into my skin, I thought about eating two scoops of strawberry ice cream. It was over in a blink of an eye.

This summer, my family went to Sentosa Island in Singapore. I went to iFLY and tried indoor skydiving. Although I am afraid of heights, I did it. I flew very high during my first try, even though I was scared. I enjoyed this great experience a lot!

I went to Canada this summer. I attended a horse-riding camp for a week. Not only riding the horse, but also I had to clean his stable and feed him. At first, I was scared, but after two days, we became friends. I hope I can visit him next summer!

In August, I was five years old. I joined a fencing competition in Taiwan. It was under-10 girls team foils. In the match, I met nine-year-old girls. I tried very hard but I lost. I was very brave! I like fencing very much. Thank you, coaches.
