I got a new mandolin for my birthday from my dad last week. So I joined my friends Hank on guitar, and Bill on fiddle, to form a bluegrass band. We tried out some classic tunes yesterday, and we sounded surprisingly good. We’re now called The Bluegrass Trio.

Before my dad and I went to a concert, we stopped at the Selfie Cafe. We ordered a set dinner, coffee and hot chocolate. My dad sent a photo of himself and myself via Whatsapp to the barista and we received drinks with our pictures ‘printed’ on the froth.

I won first place in a piano competition. There were 52 competitors in the contest. When the judge announced the results after everyone had played their songs, I couldn’t believe I was in first place and it took me a while to respond. I felt super happy!

On Buddha’s birthday, my brother, mum and I went to take the new South Island MTR line. The stations are nice, and the technology is much better than in the older stations. It was a fun trip, and I want to go back there again.

Have you ever volunteered in your life? I had a wonderful experience helping to sell the Oxfam Rice. I invited to every passerby to buy a pack for HK$20 and help poor smallholder farmers! I feel empowered to be able to help the needy.

My twin sister Jovi is scared of sleeping alone, so I lay next to her every night until she falls asleep. I can’t believe that she gave me HK$5 as a reward for doing this for two months! I felt very flattered.

I had a wonderful time at the graduation camp in March. In one activity, two of us had to pour water into a pole and others had to block the many holes until the ball inside reached the top. We learned about team spirit and unity.

Last Friday we threw a party to celebrate our special friendship which began two years ago. It is a wonderful thing for us. At the party, we ate many snacks and jelly. We played hide and seek in the playground. At last, we wrote cards to one another. While we were writing the cards, we all felt glad and touched. We hope our friendship will last forever.

Have you ever played in an orchestra with over 500 musicians? There were percussion, Chinese instruments and string. We played an exciting part as the 2nd violin. Over 1,000 people came to see us. We played many songs and we thought Tika Tika was the best one. We were lucky because they only hold a concert this big every ten years. The most wonderful thing was the composer producing a song especially for us!
